Brock Lesnar’s victory over Roman Reigns at WWE SummerSlam was met with mixed reactions from fans and the media. While some praised Lesnar for his performance, others criticized him for not taking the match seriously enough.

Four championships changed hands at WWE SummerSlam, as Brock Lesnar returned to face Roman Reigns only hours after Becky Lynch made her comeback.
The Beast Incarnate made an appearance in Las Vegas, where he seemed to be in fantastic condition as he faced off against his long-time adversary after the Tribal Chief defeated John Cena in an all-time classic.
Lesnar hasn’t been on television since losing the WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 36, but he’s now set his eyes on Reigns and the Universal Championship.
The additional complication is that Brock’s previous lawyer, Paul Heyman, switched allegiances last summer and has been by Reigns’ side ever since, so fans will be interested to watch how things play out.
Lesnar’s comeback was the cherry on top of a fantastic night, but the amazing main event Reigns and Cena put on before his music started cannot be overlooked.
With the Hollywood star pursuing a record-breaking 17th world championship and the Head of the Table threatening to quit WWE if he lost, the fans were gobbling up every nearfall.
After enduring so much abuse, Cena was finally put down by a spear for a three-count, and Reigns will now have to deal with Lesnar.
WWE needed to make a statement tonight, and they accomplished so with Becky Lynch’s return (more on that below), and the environment has shifted dramatically.
Becky Lynch takes home the gold as four championships are handed out.
The Raw Team Titles were on the line in the first bout, as RK-Bro defeated AJ Styles and Omos to win the gold, with Randy Orton and Riddle displaying excellent chemistry as partners.
Later that evening, the new champions met up with Mario Lopez from Saved By The Bell backstage, where the Original Bro promised a surprise for Monday’s Raw.
Next, Alexa Bliss dispatched Eva Marie in a battle that lacked enough in-ring talent or otherworldly mayhem to be compelling in either direction.
However, it was salvaged by the post-match, where Doudrop ridiculed Eva’s defeat by declaring her mentor as the loser before donning her robe and doing an over-the-top impersonation.
In the third bout, Damian Priest made his debut, defeating Sheamus in a very exciting United States Title battle.
Although the Celtic Warrior may object to his opponent removing his protective face mask and revealing his damaged nose, this would be an excellent opportunity to advance Sheamus up the card.
We’ve seen The Usos and Los Mysterious team up a lot in recent weeks and months, but this one was especially exciting, as Jimmy and Jey Uso successfully defended their SmackDown Tag Team Titles in an excellent match with the father/son combo.
It was time for Bianca Belair to defend the SmackDown Women’s Title after a musical interlude with Rick Boogs – who is very popular with the live audience – singing Shinsuke Nakamura’s theme song to announce the IC Champion.

She was supposed to fight Sasha Banks as promised, however she was withdrawn at the last minute and replaced by Carmella before being replaced by a returning Sasha Banks. Becky Lynch stepped up to take her position and won the gold medal in a flash.
Drew McIntyre makes quick work of Jinder Mahal as the pace seems a little wrong at this moment, split by Gable Steveson and Tamyra Mensah-Stock being paraded out.
With two hours gone and four bouts left, it seems like the event will go well over three hours, but things heated up in the Raw Women’s Title match, when Charlotte Flair forced Nikki A.S.H. to tap out in order to reclaim the title.
This was a great match from start to finish, with Rhea Ripley putting up a strong showing, but it was the Queen who took the victory – the fourth title change of the night.
The next encounter was a true dream match, with Edge forcing Seth Rollins to tap out after an all-time classic.
Both guys had high expectations, but they more than met them, with the crowd already on board as the Rated R Superstar made his entry to Brood music before switching to his regular theme.
The two guys then put on a masterclass in narrative and drama, culminating in Edge’s huge victory.

Xavier Woods snatched John Morrison and The Miz’s massive Drip Stick 2000 and soaked them both in a goofy but hilarious skit during a break from the in-ring action.
The WWE Title battle between Bobby Lashley and Goldberg was a hard-hitting but sluggish encounter that lasted longer than anticipated, with the All Mighty finally prevailing when the challenger was rendered unable to stand.
Even though the conclusion was a little hollow, the crowd applauded his every move – even MVP getting involved to assist him cheat – and there was more to come.
Gage Goldberg jumped the barrier and attempted to assault Lashley from behind, only to be caught with a Hurt Lock, prompting the Hall of Famer to vow vengeance and declare that he would ‘kill’ the WWE Champion.
