To get a good understanding of the situation, it’s important to know that Ronaldo has two main agents: Jorge Mendes and Simon de Quieroz. The former runs Ronaldo’s affairs for him, while the latter is a consultant for Mendes; they represent a large number of top players in the world, and are instrumental in the transfer market. The Ronaldo-Juventus situation has been a tense one: after four years at the Juventus, Ronaldo returned to United and signed a new £300,000-a-week, four-year deal in the summer of 2018.

It’s been five years since Cristiano Ronaldo left Old Trafford for the Bernabeu in a world record £80m move after nine seasons with the Red Devils. After everything he’d achieved, it was hard to believe that Ronaldo would leave but that’s exactly what happened. The Madrid outfit also offered him bonuses of £30m each year, which he couldn’t turn down.

Ric Flair, a WWE star, quipped that he wanted to die in the ring or ‘on top’ of his wife.

The 72-year-old Hall of Famer, who left Vince McMahon’s organization last month to explore other business possibilities in and outside of wrestling, revealed that his former employer was extremely rigid about what he could do on screen.

On a recent edition of Renee Paquette’s Oral Sessions podcast, he said, “WWE won’t even let me go up the stairs for liability concerns.” I’m afraid I can’t.

‘I can stand in a ring, but as I said, Renee, I either want to die in a ring or die on top of Wendy.’ It’s either A or B. What other option do you have? What I used to do for a living or with the person I care about? Woooo!’

Flair, who married Wendy Barlow, 61, three years ago, has taken advantage of his newfound wrestling independence by performing for other organizations such as the NWA and AAA.

The major issue is whether he’d follow Andrade El Idolo, his prospective son-in-law, in AEW, after ruling out the idea of his daughter Charlotte Flair doing the same.

‘If I wanted to work for AEW, I would go to [Vince] and say, “I want to do this because I want to go back in the ring, and I know you don’t like that,”’ he stated.

‘If I wanted to be knocked down or whatever, he’d tell me, “Ultimately, what’s best for you is best for me.”’

The Nature Boy said that he owed McMahon the courtesy of at least asking him first, and that he would love to return to the ring and entertain him.

Randy Orton texted him lately, saying that if he moved to AEW, there was a chance of a Four Horseman reunion, since Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard were already working for Tony Khan’s promotion.

‘Barry [Windham] is about a mile away, and JJ [Dillon], you fly him in,’ he said. ‘You do a half-hour interview with [Tony] Schiavone and Jim Ross,’ says the producer.

Something along those lines seems more probable, given Ric’s admission that he didn’t want to wrestle a complete match, but he loves the concept of teaming up with Andrade to take on Sting and Darby Allin, something the latter discussed exclusively with Metro.co.uk last month.

‘I might be in a match,’ Flair remarked. That’s something I’d be glad to do. Another scenario would be me and Andrade against Sting and Darby. That’s a fantastic bargain.’

‘Yeah, that’d be great!’ Darby had earlier said. I believe that everything is possible. You simply have to wait and watch what happens, as well as where the wind leads you.’
