In the midst of yet another round of results, stock futures are creeping upward. Before Tuesday’s normal session starts, here’s what we’re watching.
- Shares of Procter & Gamble PG -1.44 percent dropped 1.5 percent before the bell. The company that makes Tide detergent and Gillette razors reported a drop in quarterly earnings and said that it would raise prices on a variety of household items to offset increased freight and raw material expenses.
- Premarket, shares of Johnson & Johnson JNJ -0.73 percent were up 0.9 percent. Greater revenues in the pharmaceutical, medical-device, and consumer-health businesses helped the pharmaceutical firm post a higher profit in the third quarter.
- TRV – TRV – TRV – TRV – TRV Net income decreased by 1.77 percent in the third quarter compared to the previous year, owing to greater catastrophic losses. The insurer’s stock increased by 3%.
- In the third quarter, profits at Steel Dynamics STLD 0.87 percent surged as demand remained robust and prices climbed. Premarket, the stock was up 2.9 percent.
- Hexcel HXL -1.86 percent, an aerospace materials specialist, posted a profit for the third quarter but maintained its cautious outlook owing to pandemic fears. The stock dropped by 1.5 percent.
- The share price of Philip Morris International PM -0.94 percent increased by 0.5 percent. Profits and sales for the tobacco business exceeded analysts’ forecasts.
- Halliburton’s stock dropped 0.8 percent. Although the oil-field services business made a profit in the third quarter, sales fell slightly short of expectations.

- Premarket, Robinhood Markets gained 0.5 percent. The Securities and Exchange Commission said Monday that the trading frenzy at GameStop earlier this year should prompt authorities to examine if “game-like” brokerage applications are enticing consumers to trade excessively.
- Truist Financial increased its price objective for Occidental Petroleum shares, sending the stock up 1.7 percent.
- Teladoc Health rose 3.2 percent after Wells Fargo advised investors to purchase the virtual healthcare provider’s stock.
- Carvana, an e-commerce company, gained 3.8 percent in thin trade. Last week, Wedbush analysts raised their target price for the stock.
- After the closing, Netflix and United Airlines are expected to report.

According to Nathaniel Taplin of Heard on the Street, given how little countercyclical support has been thus far, the following quarter will almost likely be worse.
